Law Commission Issues Paper: Have Your Say

We encourage our members, along with other concerned citizens who are allied with women’s rights, to make a submission to the Law Commission.

Here is our guide to making an online submission, which highlights the arguments against including ‘gender’ and ‘gender identity’ into the Human Rights Act.

The deadline is 5pm, Thursday 5 September.

The Law Commission is an independent Crown entity tasked with reviewing New Zealand law and making recommendations to the government on how to improve it.

The Law Commission has managed to produce 211 pages justifying their argument that the Human Rights Act needs to be changed to include “people who are transgender, people who are non-binary and people with innate variations of sex characteristics”.

Here is the Women’s Rights Party submission.
